Places to Visit in the New Testament

EPHESUS

The difference between the Roman and Greco theatres are telling from up close. From a distance they both look the same. But the seats are differently made which is telling – if the theatre is Roman or Greek.

The old Celsus library in Ephesus is part of Roman infrastructure, and was more likely built at the turn of the first century AD. It was third to that of the ancient library in Pergamum, and Ptolemy’s world wonder in Alexandria. The Celsus is said to have contained more than twelve–thousand scrolls.

PHILADELPHIA

In contrast to Colossae, there is little to see in Philadelphia; but the experience of visiting this place is rewarding for a lifetime.

THYRATIRA

As with Philadelphia, there is little to see in Thyatira; but the experience of visiting this place is rewarding for a lifetime.

COLOSSAE

In contrast to Philadelphia and Thyatira, there is not much to see in Colossae; but the experience of visiting this place is rewarding for a lifetime. The hill of of Colossae below is also viewable from Hierapolis and Laodicea. Both Hierapolis and Colossae fed the warn and cold springs into Laodicea, making the waters in Laodicea lukewarm.
